Chuck was such a nice man

My name is Randy Meyer, I am the brother of Karen Bird, I got to know Chuck at my sister Karen’s house on Prior Lake in Minnesota. Chuck was such a nice man, everyone in our family who met him really liked him. He was so interesting and easy to talk to. He seemed to get along with everyone and really put an effort into visiting with people and listening to them. To me he seemed like such a down to earth person who truly cared about others, he seemed so genuine, nothing phony at all. I’ll never forget that him and Karen came down to Mankato when our granddaughter graduated from high school and how he didn’t really know anyone there but how he just blended in and visited with people. It will seem really strange to go to Karen’s house now and not see Chuck, my wife Joy and I really liked him. I read everyone of the stories that were submitted by people, although the only one I know is my sister Karen, I really enjoyed reading them and it makes not seeing him again hard.
